Under these various names, farmers are as it were “co-owners” of the company by subscribing social capital corresponding to their activities: delivery of agricultural products, purchase of supplies, use of services.
It is a voluntary professional commitment, open to any farmer: unlike other companies, the cooperative does not select its members, for example, based on a size criterion.
Being a cooperative member means accessing responsibilities in the joint venture and participating in its development. Because its democratic governance “one Man, one Voice” offers everyone the opportunity to express themselves in the life of a member in the field … going as far as steering the company when elected as an administrator.
In a cooperative, it is the dynamic of united entrepreneurs that brings people together.
